Apologize for everybody who has given comments to this website for the past two weeks. It is not because we did not approve the comments, rather, the comments have been accidentally automatically deleted because I have defined regex for the spam filter wrongly.
We arrived home from West Sumatra and found our website full of spam, thousands of them, and the mysql table crashed. This is crazy! Indrani.net has a quite low readership, so the spammer is making bad judgment by trying to hijack this website.
Wow, I'm so late, I just found out that Google Earth now have high resolution image of Jakarta, Bandung, and even East Timor. The image is from 2003, and has been online since late march / early april 2006.
Yay! indrani.net have received approval for "Gmail for your domain" beta! I found out about it from James Seng, like, so long after it has been launched (in february). Nevertheless, I tried to apply as beta tester during the last week of may for six email accounts, and three days later, I got approval for 25 accounts. Yup, this means, I gotta make 22 more babies in order to utilise the quota to the full extent. I won't put screenshots, there are many of them online already.
Let's write a futuristic story together!
My brain was numbed by the ongoing work and exam, so I tried to refresh my brain by taking a quick break and starting a fictional draft story of a futuristic scenario. You can participate in expanding this fictional scenario too, by editing the wiki. Or please leave a comment below on your suggestions in expanding this scenario. Please do give your suggestions!
The writing is triggered by a question on how would the world look like if women dominates the world and its social structure? Would it be a better place compared to the present paternalistic society? Or not? (Surely the zealots will be irritated by the very concept of female-dominated world). Here, I'm not talking about women dominate the world by becoming more masculine (like most feminist movements pursue currently), but how women dominate the world through its own feminine values.
As a mom and the cook in the house, I constantly think on how technology and internet can help daily chores at home. There are so many kinds of technology out there, but they are rarely integrated as a seamless system that helps everyday tasks. There are two possibilities when someone is thinking about what to cook for dinner. Either he look at the cookbook then buy food ingredients to make it, or he look at the fridge and think of something that can be made out of whats available. How often do you wish that you can keep track of whats inside your fridge? No matter how organized my fridge is, I keep forgetting what in it. As a result, I couldnt plan my shopping properly, and ended up buying duplicate items. Sometimes, I ended up not cooking something, thinking that I did not have the ingredients, whereas in fact I could have found it stuck at the back of my fridge. I wish my daily life could be more organized. So, lets just daydream a bit here. And lets hope google would want to take these ideas on board.
Tinker Tailor made me realize that the name of the new Google payment system - GBuy - would be inappropriate and difficult to pronounce, particularly in Singapore, Malaysia, or among Hokkien-speaking people.
When I tried to sell my xda II online, I was surprised to find out that the logic of online auction is almost totally different in Singapore.
At first, I tried to sell my xda II in Singapore Pocket PC user group (PPCSG). However, I can say that, although PPCSG market place forum is a great place to buy stuff, it is not a great place to sell stuff. People from the forum would mercilessly bargain 40-50% from the initial price. Having been unable to sell my xda II with a good price in PPCSG, I looked for other alternatives.
