I was just about to fall asleep in Shanghai's Yangtze Hotel (11pm on 19th September) when CNN broke the news about Thai military tanks patrolling all over the city of Bangkok. I immediately turned the volume up to see what was happening when UN General Assembly was in session (and I also heard Thaksin had already left the room when Koffi Anan made his opening remarks).
I cannot agree more with Yuhui on the importance of educating the online auction participants on the benefits of sticking to the rules. Even my wife and I have been puzzled by this for quite some time, too.
This morning I took Rani and Noe to Changi Airport to fly to Boston for a week. This will be the first trans-pacific travel for Noe and also the first long-haul trip with a young toddler for Rani (yup, Noe gets an infant airfare, not child).

Space Invaders was the first video game that I ever played in an arcade. My father used to take us (Anggi, Indi and Yodhi) to Mayestik (Majestic) in South Jakarta during on weekends in the early 1980s. He gave us coins to play this marvelous game of Space Invaders because we never owned ATARI, Nintendo nor VCR (we were poor, you see).

I am a passive observer of Indonesian music industry and a great admirer of live music performances. However, I find it very hard to understand why large music concerts (jazz or rock or indie-pop or dangdut) in Indonesia are mostly sponsored by tobacco companies.
If you ask me how many elevators I have ever been in with how many different people since nearly four years ago (when I arrived in Singapore), I must say that I would like to divert the question into something more interesting than that.
